A long-standing marital conflict in Amritsar, Punjab, has erupted into public view after a husband alleged he discovered his wife with another man at a hotel. This incident comes years after a similar episode was reportedly resolved privately within the family.
A Troubled Marriage and a GPS Discovery
Ravi Gulati, the husband, stated that his marriage of approximately 15 years has been strained by suspicions of infidelity. He told local news outlet Khabar Har Pal India that this was not the first such occurrence. According to Gulati, he initially found his wife with another person back in 2018. At that time, both families intervened, apologies were made, and the matter was settled internally. Gulati said he chose to forgive her for the sake of their children.
However, suspicions resurfaced recently. Gulati claimed his wife left home one afternoon and stopped answering his repeated phone calls. Acting on his doubts, he used a GPS tracking device he had installed on her scooter. He shut his shop and followed the location data, which led him to a hotel where he allegedly found his wife with another man. "I had been suspicious for over a year. That’s why I installed the GPS tracker," he explained.
Family History and Escalating Tensions
The situation has now spiraled into a major family dispute. Ravi Gulati's father, Parvez Gulati, confirmed the family faced a nearly identical issue five to seven years ago. A meeting was held then to resolve the matter peacefully, an apology was issued, and the family believed the chapter was closed.
The current allegations have taken a more serious turn. According to the Gulati family, the woman has now expressed her desire to end the marriage and return to her parental home. Parvez Gulati made a further startling claim, alleging that the man recently seen with his daughter-in-law had previously been introduced to the family as her "brother" and was a frequent visitor to their home.
Social Media Frenzy and Legal Speculation
The family says their attempts to contact the woman's relatives for discussion have gone unanswered. Meanwhile, a video related to the incident has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread commentary and debate.
Journalist and filmmaker Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj, who shared the video on X, used the case to highlight concerns about potential legal fallout and the alleged misuse of matrimonial laws in India. It is crucial to note that this remains a personal opinion and not an established legal fact pertaining to this specific case.
As of now, there has been no official statement from the woman or her family regarding the allegations. Police have also not confirmed any formal complaint or legal proceedings initiated in the matter.
