The comprehensive ranking, compiled from over 20,235 ratings with 14,730 verified as legitimate until December 15, 2025, highlights the global diversity of dumpling traditions. Among the celebrated entries, two distinct Indian preparations have secured notable positions, showcasing the subcontinent's rich culinary heritage on an international stage.

Muthia: The Versatile Gujarati Delight at Rank 48

Securing the 48th position globally, Muthia represents a cherished staple from Gujarat. This savory dumpling or fritter primarily consists of chickpea flour enhanced with traditional spices including turmeric, chili powder, fenugreek, and salt. The mixture is often bound with oil or subtly sweetened with sugar, creating a versatile base that accommodates various regional adaptations.

Once the dough is prepared, it can be shaped and cooked according to preference—either fried to a golden crisp or steamed for a healthier alternative.
