In a significant move to promote cultural heritage, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued directives for the establishment of the Vaidehi Art Gallery in Ayodhya. This initiative aims to highlight the divine life and character of Mata Sita, along with the diverse cultural and folk traditions of the region.
Focus on Cultural Inspiration and Moral Ideals
During a meeting of the housing and urban planning department, CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of this project. He stated, "Sita Maiya is an unparalleled source of inspiration for Indian culture, dignity, and moral ideals. It is crucial to introduce the new generation to her radiant character." The gallery is envisioned as more than just a museum; it will serve as a vibrant cultural experience, connecting youths with mythology and the timeless ideals propagated by ancient characters.
Showcasing Ramayana and Rich History
The Vaidehi Art Gallery will be dedicated to Sita and will showcase the rich cultural history of Ayodhya. It will focus on Sita's life and key events from the Ramayana, displaying episodes that illustrate the value system, sacrifices, and principles still followed in society today. A senior officer noted, "People shall leave the place only after soaking in the rich history of our country. We aim to provide a virtual experience of how things and lifestyles used to be as per our scriptures."
Incorporating Modern Technology and Thematic Sections
To enhance visitor engagement, the gallery will utilize modern technology and resources. This includes offering virtual tours of the old era through text, audio, visuals, and AI-based solutions. Additionally, a portion of the gallery will be themed on the Mithila region, where Sita spent her early life according to mythology. The CM has instructed the local development authority to begin preparatory work, exploring options such as using existing buildings or multi-level parking complexes, or setting up a separate structure.
Boosting Ayodhya's Global Cultural Status
This development is seen as a key phase in efforts to elevate Ayodhya as a global cultural city. By creating a state-of-the-art gallery that blends tradition with innovation, the project aims to attract visitors and foster a deeper appreciation for India's heritage. The initiative underscores the government's commitment to preserving and promoting cultural values while engaging the younger generation through immersive experiences.
