Trichy witnessed a vibrant display of tradition and community spirit on Wednesday. K A P V Government Medical College hosted a special kolam festival and Samathuva Pongal celebrations on its campus.
Students Showcase Colorful Kolams
Medical students took center stage by creating colorful kolams. These intricate floor designs beautifully depicted the rich traditions, culture, and agrarian roots associated with the Pongal harvest festival. The campus transformed into an artistic showcase of Tamil heritage.
Dignitaries Inaugurate the Festivities
District Collector V Saravanan officially inaugurated the celebrations. He performed the symbolic act of adding rice to the Pongal pot, marking the start of the harvest festival rituals. This gesture highlighted the agricultural significance of Pongal.
