Tirumala Teppotsavam Festival: A Divine Spectacle on Sacred Waters
The annual Teppotsavam festival at Tirumala reached a crescendo on Friday as thousands of devotees experienced a profound spiritual moment. Seated on the four banks of the Srivari Pushkarini temple tank, the faithful were captivated by a celestial procession that left them in awe.
Lord Malayappa's Magnificent Procession
Lord Malayappa Swamy, adorned with exquisite antique jewellery, was taken out on a meticulously decorated and illuminated flotilla. This divine ride marked the second day of the Teppotsavam, a key event in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams calendar. The deity was accompanied by goddess Rukmini Devi, with the pair symbolizing Lord Srikrishna and his consort, adding to the devotional fervor.
As the flotilla gracefully navigated the sacred waters of the Srivari Pushkarini, it completed three circumambulations. During this time, the temple precincts resonated with the powerful chants of Govinda nama, sung by devotees who were visibly moved by the spectacle. The atmosphere was charged with piety and reverence, creating an unforgettable experience for all present.
Official Participation and Festival Significance
The event saw active involvement from senior officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. TTD Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra, Additional Executive Officer CH Venkaiah Chowdary, Chief Vigilance and Security Officer K V Murali Krishna, and various TTD board members were in attendance, underscoring the importance of this festival in the Hindu religious calendar.
