Siddaramanananda Swami passed away early Thursday morning. The 49-year-old spiritual leader suffered a fatal heart attack. He headed the Kanaka Guru Peetha located at Kaginele near the Tinthani Bridge in Devdurg taluk, Raichur district.

Sudden Hospitalization and Death

The swami complained of severe chest pain around 3:40 AM. Devotees quickly admitted him to Lingasugur Hospital for emergency care. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to the cardiac arrest. Followers of the peetha confirmed his death was due to a heart attack.

Funeral Arrangements Underway

Preparations for the last rites are now in full swing at the peetha. The funeral will follow the traditional Halumatha customs. A large number of devotees have already gathered at the site to pay their respects. Many dignitaries and elected officials are also expected to attend the final ceremonies.

Early Life and Spiritual Journey

Siddharamanananda Swami was born as Mohan Pradhan. He came from Kalamarahalli village in Challakere taluk, Chitradurga district. His parents were Mahadevaya and Jayamma. At just 18 years old, Pradhan left his family home to pursue spiritual interests.

He traveled extensively across different regions. His quest led him to explore various religious philosophies. Jainism, Christianity, and the Brahmakumari order deeply influenced his thinking. The swami also studied writings from multiple religions alongside Sharana literature.

He spent some time residing at the Muruga Mutt in Chitradurga. Later, he lived in Sindhanur for a period of four years before finding his calling.

Establishment of Kanaka Guru Peetha and Legacy

In 2011, Swami Siddaramanananda visited the original Kanaka Guru Peetha in Devdurga. Inspired, he went on to establish another branch of the peetha at Kaginele. Under his leadership, the institution managed several educational facilities.

These included schools providing education from the primary level up to Pre-University (PU). The mutt-run schools also offered free meals to all enrolled children. Furthermore, the swami established degree colleges in Gudur and Muddebihal, expanding access to higher education.

His demise has prompted an outpouring of grief. Several prominent figures, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, have expressed their condolences and mourned his passing.
