Siddaramaiah to Open Sangolli Rayanna Museum in Nandagad
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate Veerabhoomi, the Krantiveer Sangolli Rayanna Museum, in Nandagad on Monday. This museum stands at the historic site where the freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna was hanged. The inauguration marks a significant moment for Karnataka's cultural heritage.
Modern Museum Built at Rs 59 Crore
The museum spans 13 acres and cost Rs 59 crore to construct. It uses modern technology to display the life and legacy of Sangolli Rayanna. Visitors can expect interactive exhibits and detailed historical accounts.
Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi visited the museum on Sunday to review final preparations. He inspected the burial site of Rayanna, parking facilities, and statues planned near the lake. The chief minister will lay the foundation stone for the lake and install these statues.
Development Authority Drives Projects
The Krantiveer Sangolli Rayanna Area Development Authority promotes Rayanna's patriotism. This government body actively implements development programs for Sangolli and Nandagad villages. A high-level committee chaired by the chief minister guides and approves all projects.
The museum aims to educate people about Rayanna's contributions to India's freedom struggle. It serves as a tribute to his bravery and sacrifice. Local residents and tourists can explore this new landmark starting Monday.
