Ram Temple Trust Unveils Schedule for Flag Hoisting at Sub-Temples in Ayodhya
In a significant development following the flag hoisting on the main spire of the Ram temple and other primary structures within the Ram Janmabhoomi complex, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has announced the commencement of preparations for similar ceremonies at six remaining sub-temples. This move marks a continued phase of religious and cultural activities in the sacred site.
Details of the Upcoming Ceremonies
After a meeting held on Saturday, Trust General Secretary Champat Rai provided specific details about the temples involved. The flag hoisting will be conducted at sub-temples dedicated to Surya, Bhagwati, Shivling, Ganpati, Sheshavatar, and Hanuman. Rai highlighted that the ceremony for the Hanuman temple is scheduled for Hanuman Jayanti, which falls on April 2, 2025, aligning with the auspicious occasion.
For the other five sub-temples, the ceremonies will be spread over eight days in a phased manner. The dates are set for March 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, and 31, 2025. This staggered approach ensures a systematic and respectful execution of the rituals.
Limited Participation and Attendee Composition
Emphasising the need for controlled gatherings, Rai stated that these events will be held without large public assemblies. Participation will be restricted to a small number of attendees to maintain decorum and safety. Each ceremony is expected to include approximately 50 seers and nearly 200 attendees, comprising engineers and workers who have been instrumental in the temple project. This inclusion acknowledges the contributions of those involved in the construction and development efforts.
Historical Context and Previous Ceremonies
The trust also recalled that the initial flag hoisting on the main spire was conducted on November 25, 2025, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking a historic moment in the temple's journey. This precedent sets the tone for the upcoming ceremonies, reinforcing the spiritual significance of the site.
Overall, these preparations underscore the ongoing religious activities in Ayodhya, with the trust ensuring that the ceremonies are conducted in a solemn and organised manner, respecting both tradition and practical considerations.
