P·TAL, a heritage-led cookware brand, has launched SuRu, The First and Forever Set, a handcrafted Kansa dinner set designed for toddlers. Created in collaboration with actor Nakuul Mehta and his wife Jankee Parekh, the set aims to become a lasting heirloom.
Design Philosophy
SuRu is crafted from pure Kansa, an ancient Ayurvedic alloy of copper and tin. Each piece is handcrafted by the Thatheras of Jandiala Guru, Punjab, a UNESCO-recognized artisan community. The set includes a bowl and spoon, personalized with the child's name through engraving.
Functionality for Modern Parenting
The set is designed for toddlers' eating habits: lightweight, balanced, with a food-grade silicone base for stability, rounded edges for safety, and a spoon shaped for small bites. It embraces messiness and supports self-feeding.
Collaboration with Nakuul Mehta and Jankee Parekh
Nakuul and Jankee shared: "Becoming parents changes how you look at everyday objects. With SuRu, we wanted something intentional, safe, and emotionally lasting. Kansa carries heritage, and the idea that Aarav could look back at this set as part of his childhood made the collaboration meaningful."
Brand Vision
Aditya Agrawal, Co-Founder of P·TAL, said: "SuRu represents our philosophy of objects carrying meaning beyond utility. It becomes an heirloom designed to hold memory, culture, and care across generations."
Pricing and Availability
SuRu is priced at MRP INR 6,999. The set includes hand-engraved illustrations and reflects P·TAL's mission to revive 500-year-old craft.
