Prayagraj Heritage Walk at Azad Park Engages Community on World Heritage Day
To commemorate World Heritage Day, a significant heritage walk was conducted at the historic Chandrashekhar Azad Park in Prayagraj this Saturday. This immersive event was meticulously designed to introduce attendees to the city's profound cultural and historical legacy, fostering a deeper appreciation for local heritage.
Collaborative Effort Behind the Event
The walk was organized by the innovative startup Dhaara aur Dharohar, in partnership with the Allahabad Museum, the INTACH Prayagraj Chapter, and Sahapedia. This collaboration brought together expertise from various sectors to create an enriching experience for all participants.
Exploring Key Landmarks and Exhibits
During the heritage walk, participants were guided to several important landmarks within the park, including the iconic Victoria Memorial, the historic band stand, the public library, and various galleries of the Allahabad Museum. At the museum, guests were introduced to numerous significant exhibits, such as the extensive archaeological collection, the sculpture collection, and the Azad Gallery, which highlights the region's artistic and historical treasures.
Distinguished Guests and Organizers
The event attracted a diverse group of attendees, including Urmi Neogi, Shlok Ranjan, Alisha Phillips, Ansh Mishra, Kuhuk Kumar, Anupam Kumar, Rahul Tripathi, and Saransh Shrivastav. Key figures present included Sanju Mishra, the assistant curator of Allahabad Museum; Anupam Parihar, co-convenor of INTACH; and the founders of Dhaara aur Dharohar, Vaibhav Maini and Adarsh Malviya.
