Prime Minister Narendra Modi Extends Festive Greetings for Navratri and New Year Celebrations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday conveyed warm wishes to the nation on the auspicious commencement of Navratri and the traditional Indian New Year, which is celebrated across the country in diverse and vibrant forms.
Extending greetings for Nav Samvatsar, Navratri, Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, Cheti Chand, Navreh, and Sajibu Cheiraoba, the Prime Minister emphasized that these occasions symbolize the arrival of a new year, bringing with them renewal, hope, and fresh possibilities for all.
Heartfelt Messages for Nav Samvatsar and Navratri
In his message, PM Modi stated, "Greetings to everyone on the very special occasion of Nav Samvatsar. May everyone be blessed with infinite happiness, success, and good health." He further prayed that the new year strengthens the spirit of courage, self-confidence, and service in everyone's lives, adding renewed momentum to collective efforts towards nation-building.
Nav Samvatsar, marking the Hindu New Year Vikram Samvat 2083, began on Thursday with the start of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. The Prime Minister also extended greetings for Navratri, the festival dedicated to Goddess Durga, expressing heartfelt best wishes to all family members across the nation.
"Heartfelt best wishes for Navratri to all my family members across the nation. May this divine occasion of worshipping the Supreme Power bring happiness, good fortune, prosperity, and excellent health to everyone," he said in Hindi. PM Modi added that by the boundless grace of Maa Durga, the embodiment of Shakti, may there be welfare for all, providing new energy to the resolve for a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India).
Greetings for Regional New Year Festivals
The Prime Minister also greeted people on the occasion of Gudi Padwa, describing it as a vibrant festival that marks the arrival of a new year with a sense of renewal, hope, and fresh possibilities. He hoped the year ahead brings joy, success, and good health for all, encouraging everyone to move forward with determination and make meaningful contributions.
For Ugadi, celebrated in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, PM Modi noted that it symbolizes new energy and beginnings. He prayed that the coming year is full of happiness, success, and wonderful health, inspiring everyone to pursue their aspirations with sincerity and contribute positively to society.
On Cheti Chand, marking the Sindhi New Year, the Prime Minister conveyed best wishes, praying for a very good year. He expressed hope that this sacred festival brings joy, fulfills hopes and aspirations, and strengthens the spirit of togetherness in society, with divine blessings of Lord Jhulelal guiding towards peace and prosperity.
PM Modi also extended wishes on Navreh, celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits, and Sajibu Cheiraoba, celebrated by the Meitei community of Manipur. He emphasized that as people welcome the new year, it should usher in fresh hopes, renewed energy, and opportunities, inspiring confidence and work towards a brighter, healthier future.
