The cultural landscape of Patna is set to come alive with the return of the much-awaited Patna Book Fair, organized by the Centre for Readership Development (CRD). The 41st edition of this prestigious literary event will be held from December 5 to 16, 2025, at the historic Gandhi Maidan.

In a significant tribute to the literary world, this year's book fair will be dedicated to the renowned storyteller Awadhesh Preet, celebrating his contributions to Indian literature. The announcement was made by CRD Patna Book Fair chairman and noted litterateur Ratneshwar through an official press release.

Diverse Programs and Activities

Book enthusiasts can look forward to an impressive lineup of more than 300 new programs designed to engage readers of all ages and interests. The diverse schedule includes literary favorites such as 'Teri Meri Prem Kahani', mushaira sessions, poetry recitations, editor's dialogue, 'Jaano-Junction', 'Yuva Swar', and the innovative 'Cinema-Unema'.

The fair will also feature an art gallery exhibition, school festival activities, and the major attraction 'Jan Samvad' program that promises to create meaningful conversations between authors and readers.

Wellness Theme and Special Awards

This year's book fair carries the thematic focus 'Wellness - A Way of Life', reflecting the growing importance of health consciousness in contemporary society. The national program 'Swasthya-Samvad' will be organized in collaboration with Dr. Vikas Shankar and other prominent medical professionals, bringing health awareness to the literary platform.

Literary excellence will be recognized through the prestigious Shashibhushan Dwivedi Award, presented by Jankipur during the fair. The award, carrying a cash prize of Rs. 51,000, will be coordinated by renowned editor Prabhat Ranjan as the convener.

Expanded Participation and Collaborations

The fair grounds will host 200 stalls featuring leading publishing houses including Prabhat Prakashan, Rajkamal Prakashan, Vani Prakashan, and Bharatiya Jnanpith, offering book lovers an extensive collection of literary works.

In a special collaboration, the Patna Literary Festival and Book Fair will jointly organize a national mushaira that will showcase prominent poets and writers from across the country. Film enthusiasts will appreciate the dedicated cinema hall for the 'Cinema-Unema' film festival, adding a visual dimension to the literary celebration.

With such a comprehensive program lineup and significant literary tributes, the 41st Patna Book Fair promises to be a landmark event in Bihar's cultural calendar, bringing together authors, publishers, and readers in a grand celebration of literature and wellness.
