Elaborate security measures were implemented for the grand procession marking Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti in Belagavi on Tuesday evening. The city police deployed approximately 2,200 personnel to ensure an incident-free celebration, with continuous surveillance along the entire route.

According to the city police commissioner, the procession route was under rigorous monitoring. Over 1,000 CCTV cameras were installed at key junctions, and 10 drones were utilized to oversee movement and crowd management. This comprehensive security setup aimed to maintain order and safety throughout the event.

Grand Celebrations and Participation

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, organized by the Madhyavarti Shiv Jayanti Committee, was inaugurated on Tuesday evening. Thousands of devotees and dignitaries, including Ravi Patil and Murughendragouda Patil, participated in the palki procession of Goddess Bhavani. The event featured more than 60 tableaux, which were a major attraction for attendees.

The procession commenced at Nargundkar Bhave Chowk and proceeded through Maruti Galli, Hutatma Chowk, Ramdev Galli, and College Road, concluding near Kapileshwar Temple. Notable attendees included MLA Asif Sait and Police Commissioner Borase Bhushan Gulabrao, who were present to oversee the festivities and ensure smooth operations.
