Kedarnath Shrine Doors Open for Pilgrims in Grand Ceremony

The portals of the revered Kedarnath shrine, known as the 11th Jyotirlinga, were officially opened for pilgrims at 8am on Wednesday in a spectacular ceremony witnessed by thousands of devotees. The ritual commenced at 5am and reached its climax when Rawal Bhimashankara Linga, accompanied by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and prominent religious leaders, entered the temple’s sanctum sanctorum to perform sacred worship.

The temple was adorned with over 51 quintals of flowers, creating a vibrant and spiritual atmosphere. As the doors swung open, petals were showered from a helicopter, adding a majestic touch to the proceedings. This floral display symbolized the divine welcome extended to pilgrims embarking on the Char Dham yatra.

The Panchmukhi Utsav Doli of Lord Kedarnath had arrived at the shrine the previous evening, following a journey from its winter seat at the Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath.
