Jyoti Rath Yatra Marks Grand Opening of Raichur District Festival 2026

The historic city of Raichur witnessed a vibrant celebration on February 1 as the Jyoti Rath Yatra was officially launched, marking the commencement of the much-anticipated Ededore Nadu Raichur District Festival–2026. Organized by the district administration, this cultural procession brought together various segments of society in a display of unity and traditional fervor.

Festive Flag-Off Ceremony

Deputy Commissioner Nitish K inaugurated the yatra from the historic Karnataka Sangha premises, which had been adorned with decorations since early morning. The chariot itself was elaborately decorated with fresh flowers and colorful garlands, creating a visual spectacle that captivated onlookers throughout the city.

Community Participation and Colorful Display

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Asha and anganwadi workers participated in coordinated attire, wearing sarees of matching colors that created a striking visual impact. Despite the event falling on a Sunday holiday, officials and staff from various government departments attended as per administrative instructions, demonstrating strong institutional support for the cultural initiative.
