Jaipur's Grand Celebration of World Heritage Day
The historic city of Jaipur, renowned for its 300-year-old legacy, is preparing for a vibrant celebration of World Heritage Day this Saturday. A series of events will unfold, primarily centered in the iconic Walled City, which holds the prestigious designation of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the majestic City Palace Museum.
Spotlight on Architectural Legacy and Conservation
The celebrations are meticulously designed to highlight Jaipur's rich architectural heritage, ongoing conservation initiatives, and the enduring significance of historic spaces amidst a rapidly evolving urban environment. Officials have confirmed that the lineup includes a diverse array of activities such as insightful talks, immersive heritage walks, and interactive sessions, all focused on the city's built heritage.
The City Palace Museum will host a series of programmes that engage with critical ideas surrounding heritage, conservation, and the evolving relevance of historic spaces. Notably, archaeologist Kavita Jain will deliver a talk titled "Revival of Heritage Places Through Adaptive Reuse," while historian Shikha Jain will present on "Living Heritage and Resilient Jaipur."

Through these walks, we will explore the known and untold histories of the streets and havelis of Jaipur."
