Hampi Utsav 2024 Set to Dazzle with Star-Studded Performances and Enhanced Facilities
The much-anticipated Hampi Utsav 2024 is gearing up to be a spectacular cultural celebration, with renowned artistes like playback singer Shreya Ghoshal and popular singer Sanjit Hegde confirmed to perform. The festival, scheduled from February 13 to 15 in Hosapete (Vijayanagara district), will also feature appearances by acclaimed actors Dolly Dhananjay, Dhruv Sarja, Rachita Ram, and Rukmini Vasant, adding glamour and excitement to the event.
Rigorous Planning Under Deputy Commissioner's Leadership
Deputy Commissioner Kavita S Mannikeri has been chairing daily pre-meetings to ensure seamless execution of the festival. During these sessions, officials have finalized the list of invited celebrities, with prior consent already secured from all performers. "The list of invited celebrities has been finalised, and prior consent was already secured from them," stated a senior official overseeing the preparations, highlighting the meticulous planning involved.
To manage the extensive arrangements, a total of 21 sub-committees have been established. DC Kavita has directed officials to fulfill their duties diligently, emphasizing the need for adequate food and accommodation for the celebrities. Additionally, the KSRTC will arrange extra buses to facilitate tourists from neighbouring districts, ensuring smooth transportation to the festival site.
Infrastructure and Safety Measures Prioritized
Key infrastructure improvements have been mandated to enhance the visitor experience. Officials have been instructed to:
- Repair potholes on roads leading to Hampi promptly.
- Clear roadside vegetation to improve visibility and safety.
- Implement a special ‘pickup and drop’ service for senior citizens through the regional transport department.
Zilla panchayat deputy secretary Thimmappa has been tasked with organizing cleanliness, water supply, and temporary toilets. The health department will deploy 8 medical stalls and an ambulance service on standby at the festival venue, ensuring prompt medical assistance if needed.
Diverse Cultural and Recreational Activities
Beyond the star performances, Hampi Utsav 2024 promises a rich array of activities for all ages. This year's event will include:
