Chennai Apparel Company Contributes ₹1 Crore to Tirumala Temple's Healthcare Initiative
In a significant philanthropic gesture, Chennai-based Subbarow Apparels has made a generous donation of ₹1 crore to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). The contribution was formally presented on Sunday at the camp office of TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary in Tirumala.
Official Handover Ceremony
The donation cheque was handed over by the company's head, J Raja Ramesh, along with his family members. They were accompanied by TTD board member G Bhanu Prakash Reddy during the meeting with the temple administration. This substantial financial support underscores the growing corporate involvement in supporting religious and charitable institutions across India.
Designated for Health Scheme
The ₹1 crore donation has been specifically earmarked for TTD's Sri Balaji Arogya Varaprasadini scheme, a healthcare initiative aimed at providing medical assistance and support to devotees and the underprivileged. This scheme is part of the temple's broader efforts to extend its charitable activities beyond religious services, focusing on community welfare and health outreach programs.
Preparations for Annual Festival
Meanwhile, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is actively preparing for the grand conduct of its three-day Vasanthotsavam annual festival, scheduled to commence at Tirumala from March 30. Vasanthotsavam is a traditional spring festival celebrated over three auspicious days—Trayodasi, Chaturdasi, and Pournami—typically falling in March or April during the Chaitra month.
Adjustments to Temple Services
In preparation for the festival, TTD has announced the cancellation of several regular services on these three days to accommodate the special rituals and events. The affected services include:
- Kalyanotsavam
- Unjal Seva
- Arjita Brahmotsavam
- Sahasra Deepalakara Sevas
Additionally, the Astadala Padapadmaradhana service has been cancelled specifically on March 31. These adjustments are intended to ensure the smooth and focused celebration of the Vasanthotsavam, which attracts thousands of devotees each year, marking a vibrant period of spiritual renewal and cultural festivities at the temple.
