Bengaluru's Happy Streets: JP Nagar Turns Into Vibrant Community Hub
Bengaluru's Happy Streets: JP Nagar Beats with Joy

Bengaluru's JP Nagar came alive on another lively Sunday as residents turned out in large numbers for the third edition of Happy Streets, presented by Bhima Jewellers in association with The Times of India. The stretch near Adarsh Rhythm Apartment in Panduranganagar was transformed into a vibrant, traffic-free public space filled with music, movement, and laughter.

Morning Mindfulness and Wellness

The event began on a calming note with a meditation session by Falun Dafa, followed by yoga and pranayama sessions that encouraged participants to start their day mindfully. Heartfulness and wellness-focused activities further emphasized the theme of healthy living. A major attraction was the emergency response awareness session by Alert NGO, where residents enthusiastically learned how to perform CPR during emergencies.

Energetic Performances and Cultural Displays

Youngsters gathered in large numbers for Zumba and energetic dance routines, while traditional art forms such as Bharatanatyam and Chenda found enthusiastic audiences. Step Nation drew attention with three performances: a veena instrumental, a women's group dance, and a kids' group dance. Swingers Dance Inc kept the crowd moving with lively fitness routines.

Cultural performances by Natyaankura–Centre of Creative Arts and Wellness, Nidam Academy, Retrovarna School of Arts, and Art Attic Academy added color to the celebrations. Music floated through the streets as many stopped to listen and hum along to old Kannada songs, with performances by Mic & Melody and From Mug to Mic keeping the atmosphere lively.

Community Games and Festivities

Street games turned into another crowd favorite, with residents indulging in rolling tyres, buguri, carrom, tug of war, and outdoor ludo. Watching these games unfold on the roads brought the motto of Happy Streets to life: reclaiming streets as joyful, people-friendly spaces where communities can come together, unwind, and simply enjoy a Sunday morning.
