Ayodhya to Get State-of-the-Art Museum on Sita's Life and Mithila Culture
A cutting-edge art museum dedicated to showcasing the life, virtues, and cultural heritage associated with Sita will soon be established adjacent to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya. The facility, named Vaidehi Art Gallery, aims to present a modern interpretation of Sita's character using the latest technology, as announced by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
CM Adityanath Unveils Vision for Cultural Space
In a meeting of the state Housing and Urban Planning Department, which he heads, CM Adityanath emphasized the importance of introducing the new generation to Sita's inspiring qualities. "Sita Mata is an unparalleled source of inspiration, dignity, and moral ideals. It is the need of the hour to introduce the new generation to her radiant character," he stated.
The Chief Minister elaborated that the gallery will not be a conventional art museum but a vibrant cultural space. "This state-of-the-art gallery will showcase a modern interpretation through modern technology of Sita Mata's life, sacrifice, compassion, dignity, patience, and strength," he added.
Location and Design Focus on Immersive Experience
The Vaidehi Art Gallery will be constructed in the Vashishtha building complex, which is adjacent to the Ram temple and sees lakhs of devotees daily. Adityanath highlighted that the design, visual language, and technology should reflect a divine heritage and be presented as a source of inspiration.
"The core spirit of the Vaidehi Art Gallery should be such that visitors do not merely see the life message of Sita Mata but experience it, understand it, and internalize it," he said during interactions with officials of the Ayodhya Development Authority.
Promoting Mithila's Culture and Global Ambitions
In addition to focusing on Sita's life, the CM instructed that the gallery should prominently display Mithila's diverse culture, folk traditions, and art. This move is part of broader efforts to position Ayodhya as a global cultural city, with the gallery's construction seen as an important phase in this development.
"This project shall be developed in the Vashishtha Building complex, where lakhs of devotees arrive daily. The construction of this gallery will be an important phase in the efforts to make Ayodhya emerge as a global cultural city," Adityanath noted.
Speedy Implementation of One-Time Settlement Scheme
During the same meeting, CM Adityanath also addressed administrative matters, ordering the implementation of the new One-Time Settlement Scheme-2026 (OTS-2026). This scheme aims to expedite the disposal of pending residential and commercial allotment cases under various schemes.
"Dues and disputed cases pending for years not only affect the progress of schemes but also cause unnecessary hardship to citizens," he remarked. The CM emphasized that the department should adopt a solution-oriented system to generate revenue and provide relief to allottees.
He further directed that the OTS-2026 be made more practical and beneficial, with appropriate concessions for allottees and the option of payment in installments. This initiative is expected to streamline processes and reduce bureaucratic delays, contributing to smoother urban planning and development in Uttar Pradesh.
