100 Kg Silver Ceremony in Haveri for Swamiji's Anniversary

A spectacular display of devotion illuminated Haveri on Monday night as thousands of followers converged to honour a revered spiritual leader. The occasion was the 15th ascension anniversary of Sadashiva Swamiji, the pontiff of the historic Hukkeri Math.

A Night of Grand Celebrations and Ceremonies

The silver weighing ceremony was the centrepiece of a series of major events held at the Hosamani Siddappa District Stadium. This ritual was not held in isolation; it brilliantly coincided with multiple golden jubilee celebrations. These included the annual Hukkeri Math fair, the 50-year milestones of the Math's primary and secondary schools, the Prasada Nilaya Amrit Mahotsav, the golden jubilee of the Prasada Nilaya alumni association, and the Shivabasava cattle fair.

In a profound gesture of reverence, devotees collectively offered approximately 100 kilograms of silver. The precious metal was presented on a beautifully decorated weighing scale placed prominently on the dais. The event stretched into the early hours, with the ceremony taking place around 1 am, witnessed by a diverse gathering. The audience included political leaders, pontiffs from various other matts, and a sea of dedicated devotees.

Royal Honours and Concluding Rituals

A highlight of the night was the presentation of a magnificent silver throne to Sadashiva Swamiji by his followers. In a moment charged with emotion and tradition, the Swamiji was seated upon the throne with full royal honours, symbolising the deep respect and spiritual authority he commands.

The extensive religious programmes, which had commenced on December 9 as part of the Hukkeri Math fair, reached their culmination on Tuesday. The festivities concluded with a solemn memorial service dedicated to the Math's revered figures, bringing the multi-day spiritual gathering to a close.

This grand event in Haveri successfully wove together religious fervour, community service milestones, and traditional practices, showcasing the enduring influence and social contributions of the Hukkeri Math under the leadership of Sadashiva Swamiji.
