Milk Tanker Overturns on Rajasthan Highway

A milk tanker overturned on a busy highway in Rajasthan early this morning, spilling thousands of liters of milk across the road and causing significant traffic disruption. The incident occurred near the village of Kherli in Alwar district, according to local police.

The driver of the tanker, identified as Ramesh Kumar, escaped with minor injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police said the tanker was traveling from Jaipur to Delhi when the driver lost control while trying to avoid a stray animal.

Spilled Milk Blocks Traffic for Hours

The overturned tanker spilled an estimated 20,000 liters of milk onto the highway, forming a slippery layer that forced authorities to close the road for several hours. Traffic on the Jaipur-Delhi highway was diverted through alternate routes, causing long queues and delays.

"The milk made the road extremely slippery. We had to deploy a team to clean the area before reopening the road," said Station House Officer (SHO) of Kherli police station, Rajesh Sharma.

Viral Video Captures Chaos

A video of the incident, showing the tanker lying on its side with milk gushing out, has gone viral on social media platforms. The clip, filmed by a passerby, has been shared thousands of times on Twitter and WhatsApp.

"I saw the tanker swerve and then tip over. Milk was flowing everywhere. It was a mess," said eyewitness Sunil Mehta, who recorded the video.

Cleanup Operations Underway

Authorities deployed a team of 20 workers and two tankers to clear the milk from the road. The cleanup operation took nearly four hours, and the road was reopened to traffic by noon. Police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.

"We are checking if the tanker was overloaded or if there was a mechanical failure. The driver is cooperating," added SHO Sharma.
