From Software Training to Cosmetic Empire: The Journey of Saran Vel Jayaraman

City-based entrepreneur and brand builder Saran Vel Jayaraman, who is poised to enter film production, recently reflected on his remarkable business journey, ethical growth principles, and his role in supporting his daughter Naksha Saran's cinematic aspirations.

Foundations of an Entrepreneurial Spirit

Tracing his beginnings, Jayaraman reveals, "I started at a very young age with software training and travelled extensively across India, establishing offices from New Delhi to Kerala." He maintains a hands-on approach even today, personally visiting potential locations to analyze the city dynamics, local population, available resources, and competitive landscape before launching any new venture.

Building India's Largest Cosmetic Surgery Chain

With over two decades in the cosmetic field, Jayaraman recalls pioneering moments: "When we initiated hair transplantation services in 2004, many wondered who would opt for such procedures." The landscape has transformed dramatically. Today, cosmetic surgeries constitute 60-70% of all surgical procedures in India, and his chain stands as the country's number one and largest, operating 150 clinics nationwide.

His expansion continues internationally with an ambitious venture in Turkey. "Our upcoming clinic in Turkey will be among the largest in that country," he announces proudly, "making me the first Indian to establish a cosmetic clinic there."

The Future of Cosmetic Business in India

Jayaraman predicts significant growth for the sector. "The cosmetic business is poised for a major boom in India, potentially creating a revolution," he states. Beyond clinical services, his enterprise focuses on comprehensive aspects including doctor training, product manufacturing, and complete surgical services, creating an integrated ecosystem.

Venturing into Film Production

Confirming his cinematic ambitions, Jayaraman shares, "I will soon launch a film production company primarily focusing on young directors, actors, and genuinely talented individuals." His vision emphasizes encouraging powerful storytelling, supporting emerging filmmakers, and creating structured opportunities for new artistes.

Family as the Cornerstone of Success

Jayaraman credits his family as his greatest support system. "Without my wife, I would not be who I am today," he acknowledges emotionally. Reflecting on modern relationships, he observes, "Love has become commercialized today, with technology significantly influencing how people connect and disconnect." This makes his 30-year Valentine's Day tradition with the same partner particularly meaningful. Their relationship thrives on mutual freedom to pursue goals while maintaining deep respect.

Supporting Daughter Naksha Saran's Cinematic Journey

Speaking about his daughter Naksha Saran, who appeared in Margazhi Thingal (2023) and Saamaniyan (2024), Jayaraman explains, "After completing her opera singing course at AR Rahman's music academy, Naksha chose acting, and we fully supported her decision." Both her Tamil films featured music by legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja.

Her career continues to advance with a recently completed Tamil-Malayalam bilingual project and current work on Hailesso, a Telugu film under a prominent production banner, marking her fourth cinematic endeavor.
