Tragic End for Youth on Railway Tracks

A young man's life was tragically cut short on Tuesday night when he was run over by the Barkakakana-Patna Palamu Express train. The incident occurred on the railway tracks between Chiyanki and Daltonganj stations.

Details of the Incident

According to the Daltonganj railway station superintendent, Umesh Kumar, the cabin crew of the train witnessed the entire event. The deceased, identified as Ranjit Vishwakarma, a 25-year-old from Sua village, deliberately jumped onto the tracks around 10 pm as the train was approaching. The distance between the two stations where this occurred is barely 7 kilometers.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) was the first to inform the local police about the tragic event. Lalji, the officer in-charge of the Sadar police station, confirmed that the body was sent for a post-mortem examination at MMCH Daltonganj on Wednesday.

Police Investigation and Possible Motive

Preliminary investigations by the police point towards a death by suicide. Sources within the department revealed that the young man was reportedly depressed over his marital life and an ongoing family feud. These personal struggles are believed to have driven him to take this extreme step.

However, the police are leaving no stone unturned in their probe. "We have recovered a cell phone from the scene, and its call details are being examined," stated Officer in-charge Lalji. This suggests that investigators are looking into his recent communications to build a clearer picture of the circumstances leading to his death.

This incident has cast a pall of gloom over the Sua village community and highlights the pressing need for greater awareness and support systems for individuals struggling with mental health issues and domestic conflicts.
