In a significant initiative to support law enforcement professionals, women police personnel in Karimnagar have received specialized training in stress management and emotional wellbeing. The program aims to equip them with better coping mechanisms for their demanding professional responsibilities.
Stress Management Sessions for Police Personnel
Approximately 60 women police officers have already participated in counseling sessions designed specifically to address the unique challenges they face in their daily work. The sessions were conducted recently as part of a broader effort to enhance the emotional resilience of law enforcement professionals.
Psychologist and corporate trainer Addiga Srinivas, who led the sessions, revealed that participants had numerous questions about handling work-related stress. "They had several questions. Suggestions were provided how to handle situations they face in everyday work," Srinivas explained, highlighting the practical nature of the counseling.
Focus on Emotional Strength and Professional Performance
Karimnagar Police Commissioner Ghaush Alam emphasized the critical connection between emotional wellbeing and professional effectiveness. "Only if a person was emotionally strong and confident could they justly discharge their public duty," CP Alam stated, underscoring the importance of mental health support for police personnel.
The training program, named "She Leads," has ambitious plans to extend its reach to 100 women police personnel with comprehensive stress management advice and counseling. The initiative represents a growing recognition of the psychological demands placed on law enforcement professionals.
Comprehensive Approach to Officer Wellness
According to Srinivas, the counseling sessions covered multiple topics essential for effective duty performance. While providing general assistance on professional responsibilities, the program also addressed specific work-related questions raised by participants.
A significant focus was placed on achieving work-life balance, acknowledging the particular challenges faced by women in demanding professions like law enforcement. The holistic approach recognizes that professional effectiveness is closely tied to personal wellbeing and emotional stability.
This initiative marks an important step in addressing the mental health needs of police personnel, particularly women officers who often face additional challenges in balancing professional and personal responsibilities. The program's success with the initial 60 participants suggests potential for expansion to other police departments across the region.
