Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate Medha Rupam on Friday launched a mega health drive for workers in the district. The initiative aims to provide free medical check-ups and medicines to thousands of laborers working in various industries and construction sites.

DM Medha Rupam visited several medical camps set up across the district to oversee the arrangements and interact with the beneficiaries. She instructed officials to ensure that all workers, especially those in remote areas, receive proper healthcare services.

Key Features of the Drive

  • Free health check-ups including blood pressure, sugar, and eye tests
  • Distribution of free medicines
  • Awareness sessions on hygiene and disease prevention
  • Special focus on women workers with gynecological check-ups

The health drive is being conducted in collaboration with the district health department and various NGOs. More than 50 camps have been set up across the district, with plans to cover all industrial areas within a week.

Speaking on the occasion, DM Medha Rupam said, "The health of workers is a priority for the administration. This drive will ensure that they have access to basic healthcare facilities without any financial burden." She also urged workers to take advantage of the camps and undergo regular health check-ups.

Local workers expressed gratitude for the initiative. Ramesh Kumar, a construction worker, said, "We often neglect our health due to lack of time and money. This camp has helped me get a free check-up and medicines. I am thankful to the administration."

The district administration has also set up a helpline number for workers to get information about the camps and seek medical assistance. The mega health drive is expected to benefit over 50,000 workers in Gautam Buddh Nagar.
