The health department in Kanpur convened a symposium and organized an awareness rally on Saturday to mark World Malaria Day. The event took place at the office auditorium of the chief medical officer, where detailed information was provided regarding the prevention, symptoms, and treatment of malaria and other vector-borne diseases (VBDs).
Key Officials Present
All additional chief medical officers, including the additional chief medical officer (Vector-Borne Diseases), along with deputy chief medical officers and the district malaria officer, were present at the occasion. Senior malaria inspectors and VBD staff from the office and the Urban Malaria Unit also attended the event.
Awareness Rally
As part of the program, a rally was organized with the objective of raising public awareness about malaria. Students from the ANM Training Centre participated in the rally. They were provided with detailed information regarding the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures associated with the disease.
Oath-Taking Ceremony
At the conclusion of the program, the chief medical officer administered an oath to all participants. They pledged to spread awareness regarding malaria eradication and to adhere to preventive measures. The event emphasized community involvement in combating vector-borne diseases.
