Ganjam School Closure Extended by 2 Days Due to Heat

The Ganjam district administration has extended the closure of all schools across the district by two additional days, from April 24 to 25, due to ongoing hot and humid conditions. This decision follows an earlier three-day closure from April 21 to 23, as temperatures in the district ranged between 35 and 38 degrees Celsius.

Official Announcement

District Education Officer A K Patro stated, "The decision to close schools from Shishu Vatika (pre-school) to Class XII from April 21 to 23 was taken to safeguard the health and well-being of students. As a similar situation prevails, we have extended the closure by two more days."

Impact on Examinations and School Activities

Supplementary examinations for classes V and VIII will proceed as scheduled. School heads must ensure adequate drinking water, ORS, and first-aid arrangements for examinee safety. Admissions, administrative functions, Census duties, and other essential activities will continue. Teaching and non-teaching staff are required to attend school as usual.
