The department's inaugural robotic surgery procedure involved a seven-year-old boy from Unnao who underwent surgery on February 16. The child had been admitted to KGMU on February 13 after doctors diagnosed him with a bilateral inguinal hernia. He had experienced swelling in both testicles for approximately eight months prior to the diagnosis.

Medical professionals performed a robotic-assisted surgical procedure that successfully repaired hernias on both sides during a single operation. The innovative approach proved remarkably effective, with the young patient able to walk the very next day following surgery. His recovery progressed swiftly, leading to his discharge from the hospital on Monday.
