Water Pipeline Leak Sickens 14 in Mandhya Pradesh's Mandleshwar Town
A water pipeline leak contaminated drinking water in Mandleshwar town, Khargone district. At least fourteen people fell ill after consuming the polluted water.
Health Officials Respond to Outbreak
Dr. Sonu Mandloi, the Block Medical Officer incharge of Mandleshwar community health centre, confirmed the incident. He stated that fourteen individuals from one area of the ward received treatment at their homes over the past three days.
Patients reported symptoms including mouth ulcers, abdominal pain, loose motions, and cramps. They had complained about dirty water flowing from their household taps.
Health authorities conducted continuous surveys in the affected area. No new cases emerged on Thursday. All fourteen patients have now fully recovered.
Municipal Action and Investigation
Sanjay Rawal, the chief municipal officer of Mandleshwar Nagar Parishad, addressed the situation. Repair work began immediately after officials detected the leakage. Clean water supply was restored promptly.
A joint inspection took place involving the Mandleshwar Sub-Divisional Magistrate. The CMO explained the contamination source.
The leak occurred in a pipeline connecting to a house. Accumulated dirty water mixed with drain water, polluting the drinking water supply.
Rawal assured residents that the situation is now under control. Safe drinking water is being supplied to the affected area. Authorities continue to monitor the water quality to prevent future incidents.
