Vadodara Prepares for Major National Healthcare Conference
The city of Vadodara is set to host a significant gathering of healthcare professionals as the 45th national conference of the National Medicos Organisation (NMO) commences at Medical College Baroda on March 21 and 22. This prestigious event is expected to draw over 2,500 participants, including medical and dental students, interns, and practicing doctors, representing more than 25 states across India.
Theme and Organisational Details
Organised by NMO Gujarat and Saurashtra Prant, the conference, dubbed NMOCON 2026, will revolve around the forward-thinking theme "Journey toward Oneness in Health – From One Health". This theme underscores a commitment to integrating diverse healthcare methodologies while simultaneously bolstering medical education and research initiatives nationwide.
Pre-Conference Activities and Inauguration
Ahead of the main event, a pre-conference "Swami Vivekananda Healthy Lifestyle" cycle yatra was successfully conducted on Thursday and Friday. The yatra embarked from the iconic Statue of Unity, traversed through Rajpipla Medical College and Poicha, and culminated in Vadodara, promoting health and wellness.
The conference will officially open on Saturday evening with a grand ceremony. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is scheduled to grace the occasion as the chief guest. The inauguration will also witness the release of a commemorative souvenir booklet and the latest edition of the NMO journal, highlighting the organisation's contributions to the medical field.
Academic and Extracurricular Highlights
The two-day symposium promises a rich blend of academic and extracurricular engagements designed to foster learning and collaboration. Key activities include:
- Scientific paper and poster presentations showcasing cutting-edge research.

A particularly notable session will be a special scientific discourse on organ donation and transplantation, led by renowned kidney transplant specialist Dr. Pranjal Modi. The conference will conclude on March 22 with a valedictory function, where Gujarat Minister of State for Health, Praful Pansheriya, will serve as the chief guest.
