Tripura's SMCH Partners with Truevis to Launch 300 Radiology Centers
SMCH, Truevis to Set Up 300 Radiology Centers in Tier II Cities

Santiniketan Medical College and Hospital Forges Strategic Partnership with Truevis Technologies

In a significant move to revolutionize diagnostic healthcare in smaller urban centers, Santiniketan Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) based in Agartala, Tripura, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Truevis Technologies, a prominent medical technology solutions provider. This collaboration is set to establish 300 radiology centers across Tier II cities and smaller towns over the next five years, marking a major investment in India's healthcare infrastructure.

Empowering Radiologists and Enhancing Accessibility

Saugata Pit, an executive at SMCH, emphasized that this initiative is designed to support independent radiologists in transitioning from employees to owners of diagnostic enterprises. The partnership addresses key challenges that often deter private practice, including high capital requirements, limited access to advanced technology, and complex operational structures. By focusing on clinician-owned diagnostic centers, the project aims to reach over a million patients annually, aligning with the government's vision to transform smaller towns into medical hubs.

Substantial Investment and Strategic Goals

An investment of Rs 1,000 crore will be deployed over the five-year period, prioritizing autonomy for radiologists to own their clinics while receiving comprehensive technical and operational support from SMC Clinics and Truevis. The primary objective of this collaboration is to tackle the growing cancer crisis by deploying advanced imaging equipment, such as mammography and PET-CT scanners, across all 300 centers. This focus on early-stage cancer detection is expected to improve survival rates and reduce diagnostic costs by up to 30% through optimized local supply chains.

Comprehensive Support and Operational Framework

Truevis Technologies will provide end-to-end solutions, including:

  • Sourcing state-of-the-art medical equipment
  • Vendor management and procurement
  • Installation and maintenance services

SMCH will oversee the operational strategy, software integration, referral networks, and branding, leveraging its institutional affiliation to ensure quality and reliability. Pit highlighted the increasing reliance on technology-driven diagnosis in modern treatment, noting that this partnership will enable radiologists to concentrate on delivering high-quality patient care while enhancing the accessibility and affordability of diagnostic services in urban and semi-urban areas.

Broader Impact on Healthcare Landscape

This initiative not only aims to bridge the gap in diagnostic services but also fosters a sustainable model for healthcare entrepreneurship. By empowering radiologists and integrating advanced technology, the project is poised to set a new standard for medical diagnostics in underserved regions, contributing to overall public health improvements and economic growth in these areas.
