Indore District Administration Sets March Deadline for New Hospital Building Completion

In a significant move to enhance healthcare infrastructure, the Indore district administration has established a new deadline for the health department to complete the remaining construction work on the district hospital's new building by the end of March. This directive aims to expedite the project and ensure timely access to modern medical facilities for the local population.

Surprise Inspection by Collector Shivam Verma

Collector Shivam Verma conducted an unannounced inspection of the under-construction multistorey district hospital located on Dhar Road on Wednesday. During his visit, he meticulously reviewed the progress of various development activities and expressed his commitment to seeing the project through to completion.

He directed officials to ensure that all remaining construction tasks are finalized within the next two months, emphasizing the urgency of making the facility fully operational for public use. This hands-on approach underscores the administration's dedication to improving healthcare services in the region.

Assessment of Key Departments and Modern Standards

During the inspection, Collector Verma examined several critical departments within the hospital to verify their compliance with contemporary healthcare standards. Key areas inspected included:

  • The model vaccination centre
  • CT scan and MRI centres
  • Various other diagnostic units

He engaged in detailed discussions with doctors to assess the operational readiness of these departments. It was noted that certain sections, such as the gynaecology ward, testing units, and the CT scan department, have already commenced operations, marking a positive step forward in the hospital's development.

Future Plans and Comprehensive Healthcare Access

The remaining departments are scheduled to open as soon as the building construction is fully completed. This phased approach ensures that once the entire facility is operational, it will provide comprehensive healthcare access to citizens, addressing a wide range of medical needs.

Upon full completion, the 300-bed hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities, positioning it as a key healthcare hub in Indore. Collector Verma reiterated that all finishing work must be concluded within the next 60 days to transform the facility into a fully functional public resource, highlighting the administration's proactive stance on healthcare infrastructure development.
