Haryana's Free Surgical Camp Week in Panchkula from Feb 2-7
Free Surgical Camp in Panchkula from Feb 2-7

The Haryana health department will launch a special surgical camp week in Panchkula. This initiative runs from February 2 to February 7. It aims to deliver free and cashless surgical treatments to patients from economically weaker sections.

Camp Details and Location

Eligible beneficiaries can access surgical procedures at the Civil Hospital in Sector 6. The camp operates under two major government health schemes: the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the Chirayu scheme. Civil surgeon Dr. Mukta Kumar emphasized the campaign's goal. She stated it seeks to make quality healthcare both accessible and affordable for all qualifying citizens.

Building on Past Success

Dr. Kumar noted that a similar camp held earlier in the district received a strong public response. It benefitted a large number of patients. This previous success has encouraged the department to organize the upcoming week-long event.

Key Objectives of the Initiative

The Surgical Camp Week has several primary objectives:

  • Clearing the backlog of pending surgical cases.
  • Improving the efficiency of surgical services in government hospitals.
  • Strengthening public confidence in the Ayushman Bharat and Chirayu schemes.

Preparations Across Health Institutions

Dr. Kumar confirmed that directions have been issued to all government health institutions in the area. This includes civil hospitals in Panchkula, Kalka, Raipur Rani, Morni, and Barwala. All community health centres and primary health centres have also received instructions.

These institutions must identify eligible Ayushman or Chirayu cardholders who require surgeries. They are tasked with preparing a priority list for the camp to ensure smooth operations.

A Call for Coordination and Participation

Dr. Kumar described the initiative as "highly beneficial" for needy patients. She urged doctors, Ayushman Mitras, hospital staff, and field workers to collaborate closely. Their coordinated efforts are crucial for the campaign's success.

She also made a direct appeal to eligible citizens. She encouraged them to get their Ayushman or Chirayu eligibility verified. This verification can be done at the Civil Hospital or at designated help desks. Taking this step allows them to avail themselves of the benefits during this special week.
