AIIMS Mangalagiri Prepares for Second Convocation with 58 Medical Degrees to Be Awarded

The prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Mangalagiri is set to host its second convocation ceremony on Tuesday, where a total of 58 medical degrees will be conferred upon students. According to Professor Dr. Ahanthem Santa Singh, the Executive Director of AIIMS Mangalagiri, the degrees include 49 MBBS undergraduate degrees, five MD/MS postgraduate degrees, and four post-doctoral certificate course degrees. These awards recognize the hard work and dedication of medical students across various levels of their training.

Dr. Singh emphasized that the convocation will honor MBBS graduates from the 2019 batch, while also conferring degrees on the inaugural postgraduate batch, showcasing the institute's expanding academic programs.

High-Profile Attendance and New Awards

The ceremony will be graced by notable dignitaries, including Anupriya Patel, the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, and Nara Lokesh, the Education Minister. Both ministers are expected to present the degrees to the students, adding prestige to the occasion.

In a press conference held at the Mangalagiri AIIMS premises on Monday, Dr. Singh announced that starting with this convocation, the institute will introduce three new medals for MBBS undergraduate students. These medals will be awarded in the following categories:

  • Best All-Rounder
  • Best Intern

The convocation ceremony is scheduled to commence at 4 PM on Tuesday at the institute premises. Major General Dr. Tapan Kumar Saha, the President of AIIMS Mangalagiri, will preside over the event, ensuring a formal and dignified atmosphere for the degree conferral.
