A wave of panic swept through the Asuran area of Gorakhpur on Tuesday morning when three LPG cylinders exploded at a tea and snacks shop situated directly across from a local police outpost. The blasts triggered a massive fire and caused chaos in the vicinity.
Incident Details
The incident occurred at approximately 5:45 AM at a roadside eatery operated by Pappu Gupta. According to preliminary reports, a gas leak from one of the cylinders sparked the fire, which rapidly engulfed the shop. Within minutes, three LPG cylinders exploded in succession, with loud blasts heard across the surrounding area.
Immediate Response
Because the shop was located directly opposite the police outpost, law enforcement personnel promptly initiated evacuation efforts. They moved residents from nearby houses and shops to safety, preventing any casualties. Two fire tenders arrived at the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control.
During the incident, the shop owner, Pappu Gupta, sustained burn injuries. He was immediately admitted to a hospital for medical treatment.
