Hathras shopkeeper shot dead after abduction from home

A 42-year-old hardware and sanitary shop owner was shot dead after three men allegedly took him away from his home on Sunday. The victim was identified as Sunil Chaudhary, a native of Asrohi village in the neighbouring Aligarh district, who was living with his family in the Dayalpur area of Hathras, news agency PTI reported.

Incident Details

According to police, on Saturday, Sunil was allegedly called out of his house by Sukhbir alias Fauji, a resident of Dayalpur in Hathras, and Ajay, who lives in Kheriya village in Aligarh district. Later that night, Sunil’s family received information that he had been shot. He was found lying injured under the Ruheri bridge in the Hathras Gate police station area, about 15 kilometres from his home, PTI reported.

Brother's Account

Vikas, Sunil’s brother, said that Sunil informed the family, while he was still conscious, that Sukhbir, Ajay and Chandan, a resident of Rahna village, had taken him with them. He alleged that the trio first assaulted Sunil. Sukhbir then took a pistol from Chandan and shot Sunil.
