Sweets from Unclaimed Bag Claim Another Life in Madhya Pradesh Food Poisoning Case

The tragic toll from a suspected food poisoning incident in Madhya Pradesh continues to rise. One more person has died after consuming sweets from an unclaimed bag found outside a government office.

Young Mother Succumbs to Suspected Poisoning

Khushboo Kharetwal, a 22-year-old woman, passed away early Wednesday morning. She was undergoing treatment at AIIMS Nagpur at the time of her death. Doctors confirmed her condition deteriorated rapidly over the past six days.

Medical professionals reported she suffered from uncontrolled blood pressure and severe liver damage. These symptoms pointed directly to food poisoning as the likely cause.

Multiple Victims and Ongoing Treatment

This latest death brings the total fatalities to three. Two men previously died after consuming the same sweets.

  • Dasru Yaduvanshi, a 53-year-old watchman, died on Sunday.
  • Sunderlal Kathuria, aged 75, passed away during treatment on Tuesday.

Two other individuals continue to fight for their lives in a private hospital. Their conditions remain critical as medical teams work tirelessly to save them.

Official Statements and Investigation Details

Officials at AIIMS Nagpur provided crucial information about Khushboo's final hours. She arrived at the hospital late Tuesday night. Medical staff declared her dead around 6 am on Wednesday.

A hospital official stated clearly, "The provisional cause of death is food poisoning leading to multi-organ failure." Samples from the victim have been sent for detailed chemical analysis to confirm the exact toxic substance involved.

The incident traces back to January 9th. Someone discovered an abandoned bag containing sweets outside the Public Health Engineering office in Junnardeo. Several people consumed these sweets without knowing the potential danger.

Geographical Spread of the Tragedy

This poisoning case has affected people across different locations. Two victims died in Madhya Pradesh itself. Khushboo required transfer to Nagpur for advanced medical care unavailable locally.

Health officials in Madhya Pradesh face challenges determining the exact cause. Post-mortem examinations have not yet revealed conclusive results about the poisoning source.

Personal Tragedy and Aftermath

Khushboo leaves behind a grieving family. She is survived by her husband and a four-month-old daughter. Her body has been transported to her native village for final rites according to family traditions.

Another woman remains hospitalized receiving continuous medical attention. A 19-year-old woman experienced better fortune. She received treatment at a community health center and has since been discharged.

This incident highlights serious concerns about food safety and abandoned items in public spaces. Authorities continue investigating how these poisoned sweets ended up outside a government office and who might be responsible.
