Mandya Deputy Commissioner Directs Uninterrupted Health Services During Doctors' Strike
In Mandya, Deputy Commissioner Kumara has issued strict directives to ensure that all health services remain fully operational on March 11, despite an indefinite strike called by the Karnataka Government Medical Officers' Association. The association has announced the strike to press for various demands, potentially disrupting healthcare across the district.
Collective Responsibility for Public Health
During a crucial meeting with officials, Kumara emphasized that safeguarding public health is a collective responsibility. He stressed that no patient should suffer due to the proposed agitation, highlighting the essential role of government doctors and healthcare staff in delivering critical services, particularly in district and taluk hospitals.
"The well-being of our citizens must remain our top priority," Kumara stated, underscoring that pregnant women, infants, senior citizens, and critically ill patients must receive priority care under all circumstances.
Critical Services Must Function Without Disruption
The Deputy Commissioner mandated that all critical healthcare services, including dialysis, obstetrics, intensive care, and other life-saving treatments, must continue without any interruption. He specifically instructed officials to ensure the efficient operation of the 108 ambulance network and referral systems.
"Doctors assigned at the taluk level must maintain compulsory attendance to handle emergencies," Kumara directed, adding that temporary deployment of additional doctors would be arranged wherever required to prevent service gaps.
Coordination with Private Hospitals and Daily Monitoring
To manage potential overflow of emergency cases, authorities have been directed to coordinate closely with private hospitals. Kumara called for daily monitoring of medicine stocks and essential equipment across all healthcare facilities.
