Tragic Incident in Alwar Village Claims Life of 10-Month-Old Girl
A heartbreaking accident in Behramda village, located under the Nadbai police station area of Bharatpur district, resulted in the death of a 10-month-old girl on Thursday. The infant, identified as Chandni, fell into a pot of hot milk and suffered severe burns that proved fatal.
Details of the Unfortunate Event
The incident occurred around noon when Chandni was playing on a bed. Her mother, Preeti, had placed a pot of hot milk nearby to cool it down. While the mother was momentarily distracted, the child accidentally fell into the pot, leading to immediate distress.
The mother heard the infant's cries and rushed to the scene, only to find Chandni severely scalded. The parents, Satyabhan and Preeti, acted swiftly by taking the child to a nearby hospital. However, upon arrival, doctors declared the girl dead due to the extensive injuries.
Severity of Injuries and Police Response
Medical reports indicated that Chandni had sustained nearly 80% burns from the hot milk, which caused critical damage. The Nadbai Station House Officer (SHO), Arun Singh, provided details about the case, noting that the family declined a post-mortem examination for the body.
Police investigations revealed that the father, Satyabhan, was away for labor work at the time of the incident, leaving the mother alone with the child. This tragic event highlights the dangers of leaving hot substances unattended near young children, especially in household settings.
Community and Safety Implications
This accident has sent shockwaves through the local community in Behramda village and beyond, underscoring the need for heightened safety measures in homes with infants. Authorities have urged parents and caregivers to exercise extreme caution when handling hot liquids or objects to prevent such devastating occurrences.
The loss of Chandni serves as a somber reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of constant vigilance in child care. Our thoughts are with the grieving family during this difficult time.
