Gorakhpur Bride ICU Wedding: Pooja Shifted to Lucknow Critical

Gorakhpur: Pooja Yadav, the young bride from Gorakhpur whose emotional ICU wedding captured widespread attention, has now been shifted to Lucknow after her condition turned critical following a severe head injury suffered on her wedding day on May 13.

Critical Condition and Transfer to Lucknow

Late Thursday, doctors referred Pooja, 22, to a private hospital on Chinhat Road, Lucknow, after swelling developed in her brain and she continued to remain unconscious. She is currently admitted to the ICU, where a team of doctors is monitoring her condition closely, according to family members.

Her husband, Sunny Yadav, has remained by her side during the treatment. The family says the mounting medical expenses have become overwhelming, prompting them to seek public support through donation appeals shared via QR code.

Medical Status and Background

Doctors revealed that while she occasionally opens her eyes, she is still unable to speak. Pooja, daughter of Mahipal Yadav and a final-year LLB student from Hatwar village in Bansgaon, had just appeared for an examination and was returning home with her brother when she reportedly felt dizzy and fell from a moving motorcycle, sustaining critical head injuries.

She was initially admitted to a hospital in Gorakhpur and placed in the ICU, where, in an extraordinary turn of events, her wedding rituals were completed beside her hospital bed.

Public Support and Fundraising

The family has appealed for donations via QR codes to manage the escalating medical bills. Sunny Yadav continues to stay by Pooja's side, hoping for her recovery.
