Luke Thompson Shares Insights on Leading Bridgerton Season 4
In the latest installment of the popular Netflix series, Bridgerton, the spotlight shifted to Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha, who portrayed the central characters of Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek. As Season 4 concludes, Thompson has opened up about the experience of leading the series and his thoughts on its future direction.
Thompson's Experience in the Lead Role
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Thompson discussed the nuances of playing Benedict Bridgerton. He revealed that despite the pressure of heading the season, the filming process was remarkably smooth. "This sounds glib, but the actual doing of the show has been really easy. When you’re so held by a production, and you’re dealing with some of the best people in streaming and in TV, you can afford to just let yourself go to it. I loved leading it," he shared. Thompson also emphasized the importance of the audience, noting that the show "belongs to the audience," and he deeply understands its significance for fans worldwide.
Collaboration with Younger Cast Members
Thompson highlighted his positive experiences working with the younger actors on set, particularly Florence Hunt (Hyacinth) and Will Tilston (Gregory). He expressed admiration for their growth, stating, "There’s a few scenes actually with Flo this season [where] I was like, ‘Oh, I can really see now what kind of woman Hyacinth is, and how she differs from Daphne, from Francesca, from Eloise. That’s so lovely to see... It could be any of them." This collaboration added depth to the familial dynamics portrayed in the series.
