Malayalam Action-Comedy Headlines The Weekend

Leading the pack is the much-anticipated Malayalam film 'Bha Bha Ba'. This action-comedy features a powerhouse cast with Dileep and Mohanlal in lead roles. The film marks the directorial debut of Dhananjay Shankar. The intriguing title is an acronym for "Bhayam" (fear), "Bhakthi" (devotion), and "Bahumanam" (respect).

The trailer reveals Mohanlal in a special appearance, with a flashback narrative exploring the bond between the two central characters. The supporting cast includes Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Sandy Master, Balu Varghese, and Redin Kingsley. Having received a U/A certificate, 'Bha Bha Ba' is all set for its theatrical debut on December 18.

Telugu Family Drama & Mystery Thriller

Telugu cinema offers a double bill this weekend. First is the family entertainer 'Sahakutumbaanaam', directed by Uday Sharma. Starring Raam Kiran and Megha Akash, the film is bolstered by veteran actors Rajendra Prasad and Brahmanandam. Promising a heartwarming blend of romance and comedy, the film's trailer showcases chaotic yet hilarious family life under one roof. It also carries a U/A certificate.

Originally slated for December 12, the release was respectfully postponed to December 19 due to the rescheduling of Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Akhanda 2: Thandavam'.

The second Telugu release is the mystery thriller 'Missterious', directed by Mahi Komatireddy. The plot revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a police sub-inspector, investigated by ACP Anand Sai. The investigation uncovers complex twists involving an architect's wife and deeper conspiracies.

The film features 'Bigg Boss' fame Rohit, alongside Abid Bhushan, Meghna Rajput, Riya Kapoor, Balraj Wadi, and Srinivas Bhogireddy. With a runtime of 132 minutes and a U/A 13+ rating, 'Missterious' also moved its release from December 12 to December 19. The music is by M.L. Tamil Gangster Saga & Kannada Horror

Tamil cinema brings the action-packed 'Kombuseevi', a gangster drama directed by Ponram. Inspired by real events from 1996 in the Usilampatti and Andipatti regions, the film presents R. Sarathkumar and Shanmuga Pandian as a comical yet fierce uncle-son-in-law duo. This village masala entertainer also stars Tharnika, Kaali Venkat, Kalki Raja, and Anaira Gupta. It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 19, 2025.

From the Kannada film industry comes the horror-thriller 'Jinn'. Directed by Chinmay Ram, the story follows four friends traveling to an exam. Their journey takes a terrifying turn when they encounter a sinister supernatural presence near a pond, leading to a car crash that leaves them trapped in comas. The film features young talents Prakash Thuminad, Ravi Bhat, Sangeetha Anil, and Bala Rajwadi, with a screenplay by Parveez Simbha. 'Jinn' also arrives in cinemas on December 19.
