Chef Vishnu Manohar’s Jhalmuri Event in Nagpur Draws 2500

Nagpur witnessed a vibrant culinary event on Saturday as Chef Vishnu Manohar recreated the streets of Kolkata by preparing the classic Bengali snack, Jhalmuri. The gathering, held at Vishnu Ji Ki Rasoi, attracted over 2,500 people eager to taste the delicacy that gained national attention after Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen enjoying it during a campaign rally in West Bengal.

Inauguration and Attendance

The event was inaugurated by newly elected MLC Sanjay Bhende, alongside former MP Ajay Sancheti and senior BJP leader and former MLC Girish Vyas. Long queues formed as citizens lined up to sample the authentic Bengali-style Jhalmuri personally prepared by Chef Manohar. The snack, made with 16 ingredients including puffed rice, peanuts, chickpeas, boiled potatoes, onions, tomatoes, and a traditional Bengali spice mix crafted by Manohar's disciple, Chef Rushikesh, filled the air with its distinct aroma and festive energy.

Chef’s Appeal for Indian Street Food

During the event, Chef Manohar drew cheers from the crowd with a spirited appeal, urging people to move away from pizzas and burgers and instead embrace nutritious Indian street food. His message resonated with attendees, many of whom were trying Jhalmuri for the first time.
