Singer Sonu Nigam’s global fan following was on full display in a recent video he shared on social media. The clip captures a heartwarming moment as he spots fans playing his track while heading to his concert in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Sonu Nigam’s Surprise Encounter with Fans
The video begins with Sonu sitting in his car, mic and earpiece ready, when he notices a car a few meters ahead playing his song ‘Yeh Ishq Ishq’ from the film ‘Dhurandhar’. A bright smile spreads across his face as he realizes the fans are on their way to his show.
“Mera gaana sun rahe hain, unhe pata hi nahi ki main unke peeche hoon kyunki woh mere show ke liye ja rahe hain (They are listening to my song and don’t realise I’m right behind them as they’re heading to my show),” he says, before spontaneously singing along to the track.
Singing Along and Connecting
Sonu then asks his driver to pull up closer to the fans’ car and rolls down his window. As the fans recognize him, they greet him with smiles and waves. “So sweet,” Sonu remarks, with the video ending on a shot of the concert stadium.
Sharing the moment on Instagram, he captioned the post: “When you see your concert has already begun for your audiences in their car.” The clip received an outpouring of love from fans and celebrities alike. Comedian Tanmay Bhat wrote, “So fun.” One fan commented, “Sir Aapko sun ne ke liye bhi warm-up karna padta hai (One needs to warm up to listen to you).” Another said, “Aww … another iconic and a living legend,” while one comment read, “That smile is worth million.”

The song ‘Yeh Ishq Ishq Hai’ is composed by Shashwat Sachdev and is a recreated version of a classic from the 1960 film ‘Barsaat Ki Raat’. The track also features rapper Reble.
