Shriya Tiwari, who currently essays the role of Saloni Virani in the second season of the popular television show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, featuring Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay as Tulsi and Mihir Virani, is thoroughly enjoying being part of the 'saas-bahu' genre.
She says, "Kyunki... is iconic because of its relatable, dramatic portrayal of a Gujarati joint family and compelling storylines. I am enjoying being part of the 'saas-bahu' genre. One cannot deny that this genre still rules the screen, and our audience enjoys watching family drama. I feel fortunate to be part of this show."
She adds, "Saas-bahu dramas are considered a forever genre. When we talk about Kyunki, the show was a daily ritual for millions, featuring a relatable, multigenerational joint family that resonated deeply with audiences, fostering a massive loyal fanbase that continues with its new season in 2026. I am glad that my name will be listed in the 'Bahu list' of Tulsi Virani."
Shriya enjoys watching fiction dramas that help her in performing. She tells, "I enjoy watching movies and series, mostly drama, thriller, sci-fi, and rom-com genres. I believe that by watching more movies and series and seeing great actors performing scenes, I can observe and make myself better as an actor and enhance my acting skills and vision if I ever get such roles."
She concludes by revealing her other hobbies: "I love dancing and working out in the gym. I also love cooking new dishes. I always enjoy spending great time playing cards with my friends. And spending time with my family will always be at the top tier of my happiness."
