Secret of Kalinga Release Delayed to June 18

Dhyan Sreenivasan's upcoming film 'Secret of Kalinga' has faced another postponement, with the makers now scheduling its theatrical release for June 18. The mystery horror comedy was initially slated for a May 21 release, then moved to June 11, and the latest shift occurred just one day before that date. The production team has not disclosed an official reason for the delay, instead focusing on the revised release plan and the film's final rollout.

'Secret of Kalinga' release date update

Cinema Express reported that the makers announced the new release date on Wednesday. According to the report, 'Secret of Kalinga' will now hit theaters on June 18 after missing its earlier June 11 plan. It was also noted that the film had already been moved once from its original May 21 date. No official statement has been issued to explain why the makers pushed the release again.

Cast and crew details

Directed by Saneesh Unnikrishnan, 'Secret of Kalinga' falls into the mystery-horror-comedy genre. The film pairs suspense with humor and follows a premise that the makers have so far kept largely under wraps. Saneesh Unnikrishnan co-wrote the screenplay with Jishnu M Aaryan. Dhyan leads the cast, which also includes Althaf Salim, Riyaz Khan, and popular social media content creator Nithin Parameswar in key roles. Their presence gives the film a mix of familiar film faces and a digital-era performer who already has a strong audience online.

Basheer Varandharappilly and Sulthan produced 'Secret of Kalinga' under the banner of Aira Films. Asrith Santhosh handled the cinematography, while Aswanth Raveendran edited the film. Gokul Sreekandan composed the music, and Dhanush Harikumar along with Vimaljith Vijayan jointly composed the background score.

The film adds to Dhyan Sreenivasan's busy slate. He was last seen in Rajesh Amanakara's 'Kalyanamaram', which also starred child actor Devananda of 'Malikappuram' fame.
