Megan Thee Stallion Opens Up About Depression
In a recent interview with Women’s Health, Megan Thee Stallion detailed how depression affected her daily life. The three-time Grammy winner admitted, “I didn’t want to get [out] from under the covers… I stayed in my room. I would not turn the lights on. I had blackout curtains. I didn’t want to see the sun.”
The “Hot Girl Summer” artist added, “I knew I wasn’t myself. It took me a while to acknowledge that I was depressed. But once I started talking to a therapist, I was able to be truthful with myself.”
Past Struggles and Trauma
Megan Thee Stallion faced significant challenges in her life, including the loss of her mother to a brain tumor in 2019 and being shot in the foot by her former close friend, Tory Lanez. When she filed a lawsuit against Lanez, many friends and peers doubted her account. After years of legal battles, Lanez was imprisoned and is serving a 10-year sentence in California.
