Lucknow: Sarojininagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Tuesday announced financial assistance of ₹50,000 for construction work at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Sangrahalaya temple while participating in a series of religious and community programmes across Lucknow.
The announcement was made during the 16th annual bhandara organised at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Sangrahalaya on Gahru Piparsand road. Singh said temples are not merely centres of worship but also represent Indian culture, service and social unity.
Throughout the day, Singh attended more than a dozen programmes including bhandaras, Sundarkand recitations, havans and prasad distribution events held in various parts of the city. Large crowds of devotees gathered at the events amid chants of Lord Hanuman.
At Ravindra garden in Aliganj, Singh distributed prasad among devotees during a bhandara. He also participated in another community feast and prasad distribution programme near Rajputana on Shaheed Path along with his elder brother Rameshwar Singh. Former chief minister and MP Jagdambika Pal and several prominent personalities were present at the event.
Singh also attended religious programmes in South City, Aashiana, Telibagh, Banthra and Chowk, where he joined devotees in prayers and community meals.
