Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan penned a heartfelt and emotional note on social media as 2025 drew to a close, describing it as a profoundly challenging year for her, husband Saif Ali Khan, and their children. The actress shared a reflective post with a picture of the couple, acknowledging the heavy emotional toll the past twelve months had taken on their family.
A Year of Trials and Resilience
"As we sit down and reflect on the fact that we made it to the last day of the year... we walked this far," Kareena wrote, hinting at significant struggles faced away from the public eye. She was candid about the difficulties, stating, "2025 has been a difficult year for us, our children and our families... But we went through it, heads held high, laughing and holding on."
Her message delved into the raw emotions they experienced, highlighting their path to resilience. "We cried a lot, we prayed and now we are here," she revealed. The actor expressed that the year taught her powerful lessons, reinforcing that "human nature is fearless, love will conquer all, and that children are braver than we think."
Kareena extended gratitude to their support system, writing, "We want to thank our fans, our friends, and everyone who stood by us and continues to support us... and above all, the lord almighty."
The Traumatic Incident Behind the Struggle
The family's challenging year was marked by a harrowing incident in January 2025. Saif Ali Khan was violently attacked by an intruder at their Mumbai residence, leading to his hospitalization for nearly 10 days with multiple stab wounds and a spinal injury.
Saif later recounted the terrifying night on the talk show 'Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle'. He described being awakened around 2 AM after their maid rushed in, alerting them that someone was in their younger son Jeh's room demanding money. "I barged into Jeh's room in the dark, and I saw this guy standing over his bed with a knife," Saif recalled.
The situation was already dire. "He had already cut Jeh on his hand and had also hurt the nanny," Saif shared. In an attempt to protect his son, the actor confronted the assailant. "I thought he was smaller than me, so I jumped on him. Jeh later told me it was a big mistake. He had two knives and started slashing all over me."
The attack turned severely violent. "I suddenly felt this thump in my back… At that point, he had cut me everywhere — my neck and my back — and there was blood everywhere," Saif described. The aftermath was witnessed by their elder son, Taimur. "Taimur looked at me and said, 'Oh my God.' He thought I was probably going to die. I told him, 'I’m not going to die. I’m fine,'" Saif said.
Stepping into 2026 with Renewed Hope
Despite the trauma, Kareena's note focused on moving forward with strength and optimism. The family is currently on a holiday together, ringing in the New Year away from the spotlight. "We are entering 2026 with a renewed fire in our bellies, immense gratitude and positivity, and an undying passion for what we do best... the movies," she declared.
She signed off with her signature phrase of optimism, "CHAR DI KALA. Happy New Year, everyone!" The actress has been sharing peaceful glimpses from their family vacation on social media, signaling a calmer and happier transition into the new year for the Khan family.
The entire episode underscores the vulnerability that exists even for high-profile celebrities and the profound impact such events have on a family's life. Kareena Kapoor Khan's public reflection serves as a testament to their collective resilience and the power of family unity in overcoming life's most severe tests.
